The VHS Latin Club goes to Rome every year during the summer. Students get the opportunity to visit monuments iconic to ancient Roman life. This includes the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Vatican Museum, St. Peter's Bascilia, and many others. Two of which that stand out in particular are the Villa Borghese gardens and Galleria Borghese. The Villa Borghese gardens contains elaborate gardens. The museum located within the Villa Borghese gardens is the Galleria Borghese. The Galleria Borghese holds most of the Borghese collection of paintings, sculptures, and antiquities This collection was begun by Cardinal Scipione Borghese who lived during the early 1600's. After a day of fun, the students relax in Rome's public piazzas. This allows them to shop, explore the city, experience the modern Roman lifestyle, and eat lots and lots of gelato! On the last day of the trip, the students are allowed to pick an activity and enjoy their last day in Rome.
